Here are some of my favourites:

  • Corporate governance
  • Operational excellence
  • Market penetration
  • Due diligence
  • Value proposition
  • Core competency
  • Human capital
  • Competitive advantage
  • Talent management
  • Change management
  • Institutional knowledge

No shame if you use these. I do too. They can be handy shortcuts. Once I got past the vagueness, I found most of them useful.

My top piece of business jargon? “Organisation Strategy”

Here’s why:

  • It’s used everywhere in the business world.
  • It’s vague and often misunderstood.
  • Strategies are powerful, and every organisation or team should have one.

So, what is “strategy”? We define it like this:

Strategy combines an organisation’s long-term goals with a credible plan of action to achieve them.

Impact Society

Simple.
