Each card offers a simple, practical prompt that can be completed in under 15 minutes, making it simple to integrate leadership into your everyday routine.

Pick a card at random, or choose one that feels right for the moment, and commit to putting leadership into practice in small, yet powerful, ways. Example questions

  • Ask a team member for advice on a current issue. Bonus points if it’s someone you wouldn’t normally ask.
  • Take a few minutes to outline what you see as the team’s top priorities or the week. Share this with your team via chat, email or at your next meeting.
  • Reach out to your most overloaded team member and ask, “What’s one thing I can take off your plate today?”.
  • Publicly thank a team member for a recent contribution. Be as specific as possible about it.
  • Invite a team member you don’t usually work closely with for a brief coffee chat about work and life (virtual or in-person).
  • Ask one team member, “What’s one thing that’s been causing you frustration lately?” and see if a quick fix is possible?

How to use the cards.

Solo mode

  • Place the deck on your desk and select a random card whenever you have 15 min spare between meetings
  • Ask a team member to select a card for you to complete
  • Pick a handful of focus actions you want to work on and stick them on your wall as a daily reminder
  • Select one action for each team member that you’d like them to work on that week

Team mode

  • Arrange the cards in four themed piles
  • Each team member rolls the dice and picks from the corresponding pile
  • They focus on that action for the week, reporting back their experience and learnings at the next meeting
  • This normalises continuous leadership improvement and shared learning
